Gyeonggido-Danggut Sinawi Dance

The village guts of Bucheon, Siheung, Ansan, Osan, Hwaseong, Suwon, Gyeonggi, and Anseong in the southern part of Gyeonggi Province are called Gyeonggido-Danggut. This village rite is performed by hereditary dancers who practice martial arts from generation to generation, calling these men Hwarang or Mountain, and calling the women Mee-gi. The dance of Gyeonggido-Danggut, which is centered by hwarangiip or mountain climbers, is a dance performed on the Gyeonggido-Danggut, in a broad sense, or an artistic performance from the field. In addition, the accompaniment music of this dance is difficult to understand even experts such as the chaechae, the Mae Heonbanseoleumjangdan, the Ohnigutgeori, the Jin Soejangdan, the ollimchae, the gyeommachi, the Garaejo, the balppeodeure, the bujeongnorijangdan Is called The stage-formed dance with the shamanistic tradition of Gyeonggi-do, The Jinsoe Dance, The Teobeollim Dance, The jesek Dance, The kkaekkeum Dance, The elmchae Dance, The Jeseok Dance, The Dorsalpool Dance, At the center of it, there is Kim Sook-ja, a teacher.'Gyeonggido-Danggut Sinawi Dance'

It was designated as Gyeonggi Intangible Cultural Property No. 64 on June 1, 2018.

1) Historicity

Including bu-jeong-nol-i dancing Jinryuk Dance, Tuvalim Dance, Jeseok Dance, Kkkkotchum Dance, Dorsalpool Dance, etc. are known as 'Gyeonggido-dangut Sinawi Dance.'
The gut of Korea is various because it has been handed down tradition with each tradition in each region.
The gut of Gyeongdodang means the village gut of Bucheon, Suwon, Siheung, Ansan, Osan, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, and Anseong in the southern part of Gyeonggi Province. The dances, including bu-jeong-nol-i dancing , have a unique image of Gyeonggido-dangut Sinawi Dance performed in the southern province of Dodanggut. They are shamanistic dances that contain ritual elements and cultural and artistic qualities of Gyeonggi-do that cannot be seen elsewhere. Therefore, it can be seen clearly that Gyeonggido-Danggut Sinawi Dance contains the cultural style and regional character of Gyeonggi Province.

2) Artistry

Kim Sook-ja's Gyeonggido-Danggut Sinawi, which passes through the exorcism rite in Sehummu-ga, Gyeonggi-do In the midst of hardship and adversity, she defended Gyeonggi-do Danggut and broke away from the heart of the deceased through a sense of unity with humans at the village court. Also, these dances are highly valued for their artistic value, in which the new spirit in spiritual emotional state is expressed with joy.
Gyeonggido-Danggut Sinawi Dance of Shamanism belonging to the Shaman Dance is very proud but has a deep meaning of simple life. Each dancing dance shows a wide variety of stream lines in the space, and the shape of the line drawn by the dancers is a simple composition same. Each of them consists of free dancers from Jungjungdong and Dongjungjeong, but they reflect the inner beauty of the proposed inner style and external dynamics. In particular, it is harmonized with Gyeonggi-do's unique style and artistic value.

3) Academic Performance

The distinctive element of Gyeonggido-Danggut Sinawi dance of Gyeonggi Dynasty (1926-1991) from the Maehan Dynasty was the traditional dancing of the unconscious personality dance, which was performed by Gyeonggido-danggut Dynasty in Gyeonggi Province. The accompaniment music of these dances is very varied and unique as Gyeonggido-danggut dancing music. Therefore, Gyeonggido-danggut Sinawi Dance was a shaman dance which was originally performed in Gyeongdonggutdonggutan of Gyeonggi Dynasty, but it is a representative shamanic dance which is staged and artisticized in the process of passing. These dances originated from the religious wishes of destroying evil spirits and calamities and bringing happiness to the well-being of the village.

4) Locality

Kim Sook-ja's Gyonggidang-Gut Sinawi Dance is a dance performed at Gyeonggido-danggut. As mentioned above, Gyonggidang Gut means the village gut of Bucheon, Suwon, Siheung, Ansan, Osan, Hwaseong, Suwon, Gyeonggi, and Anseong in the southern part of Gyeonggi province. Dodanggut is still being held in Gyeonggi-do, such as the old Doodang in Suwon, Ko Saekdodang, YoungDong geobuksindang , and Jangmalodang in Bucheon.
Kim Sook-ja's Gyonggidang-Gut Sinawi Dance retains its unique artistic and martial arts tradition based on the Gyeonggi Province's local folk tradition. Even if you look at the family history of Kim Sook-ja, who was born in Anseong, Gyeonggi-do as the descendant of a hereditary dancer, you must have a strong regional character and a solid dance.
