Ilsandong-gu in Goyang-si (Major, Sung Choi) has successfully held ‘Dongnebangne, Noon Musical Show’ in upcoming fall with beautiful melody between Dongmun Goodmorning Tower 1 cha and 2 cha as a Baekseong-dong office town on the 22nd
The singer, Heewon Song, who performed with beautiful music, has sung ‘Do not worry’ by Inkwon Chun for office workers to overcome adversity and also ‘Fall Love’ and ‘In front of post office in Fall’ for those who gathered around the place and excited them.
In addition, the event for Uleung-do and Dokdo photo exhibition held by The Photo Artist Society of Korea was a special opportunity for people to have different appreciation from ‘Gallery Gaon’ in the government office of Ilsandong-gu.
Residents from Baekseog-dong who enjoyed the performance said, “We were attracted to beautiful music sound from the window. Thank you for giving us a wonderful time to remember the fall, 2016.”
One of the associates said, “We are expecting that many of the performances to be held in the future will provide residents in ilsandong-gu an opportunity to heal and communicate with others.”

Goyang-si Dream Start Children Career Camp
Goyang-si (Mayor, Sung Choi) revealed that ‘2016 Dream Start Career Camp’ was proceeded when 28 children participated in from Hongcheon-gun Juvenile Training Center for one night and two days from the 21st to 22nd.
Proceeded with the theme, ‘We are making beautiful world,’ this camp has been prepared to provide dream start high graders (soon-to-be middle school students) to find their dreams and think about their future.
On the first day of camp, they were divided into four groups to break the ice and participate in the natural activities, cooking activities, sports, and community games and became closer with each other soon.
After having dinner, they sat with each other in a circle during the music activities and sang old songs such as ‘Bugs, Road in the orchard, Dokdo is our land, and others’ that they have not usually sung before. In the group game in each group, they used their skills and cooperated with others.
In this camp, they determined inner rules for ‘being punctual, use refined words, not using cell phones, and serving the leader for meal service’ and practice them.
One six grader who suffered from difficulty in controlling anger said, “I did not have many friends due to anger control issues. I had an issue with one student during the camp. With help from group teachers and conversation with friends, I was able to learn how to compromise with them. I think I will be able to compromise with friends by communicating with them.”
Associates in Goyang-si Dream Start said, “We will provide various experience activities for improving social skills and healthy self-reflection for children from low-income families.”

The fourth Goyang Independence Movement History Scholar Symposium
- Youngsun Oh (April) and Jungso Na (September) from Goyang were selected as the month of independence fighters in 2016 by Ministry of Patriot and Veterans Affairs.
Goyang-si (Major, Sung Choi) revealed that they conducted the ‘Goyang independence fighters scholar symposium’ for re-examining independence fighters and independence movement history in Goyang on September 7th when about 200 people including descendants of the ‘general Jungso Na’ and members from independence committee participated in.
With the fourth anniversary, ‘Goyang independence movement history scholar symposium’ has been conducted every year since 2013 to promote the national protection spirit and independence awareness in Goyang by cultivating and re-examining independence fighters and been receiving attention from local scholars as well as the field of history.
Especially, themes of this presentation are related to the ‘general Jungso Na’ who lead the Cheongsanri battle’ as a win with the independence fighter ‘Seoknong Youngsun Oh’ who served as judicial affairs director and the general Jwajin Kim. They were all born in Goyang, and this session was meaningful that ‹Youngsun Oh (April), Jungso Na (September)› were all chosen as the month of independence fighters from Ministry of Patriot and Veterans Affairs.
Goyang-si, Sung Choi, said, “We come up with a word of Chaeho Shin for how ‘there is no nation who forgets about the history’ from the attitude of Japan that took a leading role for conservative swing and new millenarianism through the constitutional amendment as well as anti-historical words and behaviors including the insistence of their rights over Dokdo and issues of Comfort Women on the 71st year of anniversary of national independence” in the congratulatory message of the symposium. He emphasized that “We need to keep thinking about and discussing the historical education and spirit in the era from the local areas”
