Bamgashichoga Fork Museuim

 

 

Bamgashi straw roofed house in Ilsan-gu, Goyang-si, is settled as an island in the middle of modern house.
The size of it is not big, but Bamgashi straw-roofed house provides people a good opportunity to carefully and comfortably observe straw-rooted house. With the history of 150 years, Bamgashi straw-roofed house is a place for people to take a glance at the unique history of Korea including ondol, barn, and furnace.

Forms of Motors and Arts (FOMA)

 

FOMA stands for Form of Motors and Arts as an initial that it is the first privately held motors design/arts museum in Korea.
Design pursued by FOMA is the 'Beauty of Procedure' obtained from the course of design.
In other words, it is the language of forms combined with many of the material from the procedure of finalizing the design.
In addition, it shows how many of the stories of design that seem to be difficult are explained in an easy way by developing historical traces in the history of motor design.
FOMA is a place delivering stories of design shown in the automobile industry that has been a criterion of economy in Korea as well as traces of design in the history of automobile design in Europe through historical and meaningful resources.
Opened in 2016, FOMA has been operating education program to improve basic skills and creativity of young designers and make it feasible for them to learn various expressive methods as well as insight designers needed to be equipped with though creativity from diverse inspirations. Latin American Council

 

Latin American Council is a new place for culture established by the ambassador, Bokkyung Lee, who served as a diplomat for the past 30 years in Central and South America and his wife and the director, Gappyo Hong by collecting institutions and customs.

Latin American Council has been much used by individuals, groups, academic communities, diplomatic groups, companies, and education organizations and is planned to be cultivated as a thematic culture space in rural areas as a cultural and artistic space.
In regions in Asia, Latin American Council is the one and only place that introduces culture in Central and South America that foreigners visiting in Korea come to experience of culture in Central and South America.

Goyang Cactus Museum

Located in Ilsan Lake Park in Goyang-si, 'Goyang Cactus Museum' is operated by agricultural technological center in Goyang-si and is the museum consisting of about 150py-sized nursery and about 300py-sized glass greenhouse.
As an interesting experience museum planting and exhibiting about 200 types of rare cactuses from all over the world, they projected cactuses in Goyang-si that advance to foreign countries through the global map and ship models.

Goyang City Hall Gallery 600

Since opened in 2013, Goyang City Hall Gallery 600 has been displaying many of the artistic works that showed beautiful culture and art in Goyang-si and operating the exhibition hall for free to citizens (1 floor underground/ 4 floors on the ground) Open hours are from 9am to 6pm on weekdays.

Ilsan Station Museum

Old Ilsan Station was constructed in 1933 as the cultural asset 294 registered as modern cultural heritage. History in Japanese colonial era in the middle of Ilsan new city is of a rare value. The form of roof is that cross-shaped gable roof is placed on the flat area. Gable part shown from the front angle has wide width, but height of it is low. This station is different from other stations in Gyeongbu Line constructed in the 1930s.
Goyang Ilsan Station Museum is a space exhibiting changes in Ilsan, 5-days market in Ilsan, and the history of Ilsan station so that citizens can take a glance at. This place was opened by changing old llsan Station that was left as a waste land after new Ilsan station was open in 2009 into the 'Goyang Ilsan Station and new world hope toys library' on November 2015.

Taking a leading role to provide welfare service of cultural art for residents in the area and improve the quality of welfare service, this place has been operated by communicating with residents in the communities.

Goyang Restroom Exhibition Hall

고양화장실전시관

This is the restroom museum that was opened in Lake Park at Janghang-dong, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang-si, in Gyeonggi-do, on July 11, 2001. In the building area of 148.32㎡, this place displays various restroom-related items that people can take a glance at the history of changes in restroom in Eastern and Western world. As for relics in Korea, there are toilets for both men and women excavated at the temple site in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Maehwa frame as a toilet for the king in Joseon Dynasthy, flush toilet from Bulguksa Temple, containers of human wastes, and A-frame carrier. As for relics in Western world, there are chair-type toilet made by piling books, chair-type toilet used by Louis III of France, boltar as a toilet for women developed in the 17th century, Lacina as a toilet for men, and toilet named 糞石 used by James II in England that are displayed in this place. In addition, as for relics in Eastern world, there are 52 items in 19 kinds including water container as a toilet in Japan, containers of human wastes for manual collection, bamboo paddle used instead of toilet paper, pig toilet in China, and Matong.

Other than them, they displayed the Korean traditional restroom in the size reduced by 70% from actual scale. Video images containing the culture in Eastern and Western world and two of the touch screens introduce unique restrooms in all over the world as well as relics. Furthermore, proverbs and graffiti culture in the restroom provide various resources for visitors to enjoy with. There are restrooms for men and women as well as advertisement hall outside the exhibition hall.
