During the development of Ilsan new city on June, 1991, Kawaji rice seed was found near Jangsung Elementary School at Daehwa-dong. According to the result of research on this rice seed by Beta Research Lab in America, it was confirmed to be 5020 years ago. Other than them, there were many of the relics in prehistoric period. There was a race that the parts where rice seeds were connected to the stems of rice seed was artificially taken off. Therefore, it shows that people farmed before the Bronze Period. Mainich Newspaper in Japan also introduced Kaswaji rice seed as the oldest rice seed that was distributed in Japan.
