The Cultural Center of Latin America established in 1994 is the only Latin-America-themed cultural space in Asia that exhibits ancient artifacts and modern and contemporary artworks and sculptures collected for over 40 years by the president Lee Hyung-bok who has served as the head of missions in four countries in Latin America for over 30 years in office.

holds a Spanish-style stone fountain, and in the middle of the dome-shaped ceiling, there stands a golden statue of sun carved with wood, while the surrounding windows allow natural light into the building. This shows a delicate design that allows us peek into the lifestyle of Latin Americans who worshiped solar deities.

the museum
and walk towards
the art gallery.
The first floor exhibits the paintings and sculptures of contemporary Latin American artists and the basement features a fabric exhibition room for traditional clothing worn by Latin American women.
The room displays handcraft embroidery works known as “mola” and the traditional clothing of indigenous Mexican women called “huipil”. The gemetrical design unique to Latin America and bald and diverse colors and patterns were mysterious and exotic.

Now, as you come outside
The park displays a wide variety of different sculptures.
The jars or Mayan murals on the walls make me feel as if I have traveled through time and space to fall into the middle of the Mayan civilization.
