The best painting of Cheondoo Han is designated as Gyeonggi-do cultural asset

Haengshin 2-dong has the oldest painting of Goyang city.

It is the portrait of General Han Cheondoo. To be exact, it is portrait painted in 1613 during the time of King Gwanghae. Cheondoo Han was a man of Soman Village of Haengshin-ri who was borned in 1563 and died in 1649 who was a warrior during the mid-Joseon period and held middle-ranked government position.

Currently, his descendants continue performing ancestral rituals and take good care of the portrait in agreement with Goyang city, the descents applied for the designation of cultural property to Gyeonggi Province. Its value has been recognized and it has been designated as Gyeonggi-do Tangible Cultural Asset No. 316. It is in the process of designating it as a treasure with the city. The size is 220cm in length and 110cm in width. The original form is relatively well preserved. It is the portrait wearing the uniform with the figure of a tiger. It is a rare cultural heritage with portraits and royal edict, painter, writer, preservation boxes, etc. are all preserved.

There was a tomb in Soman Village, Haengshin-dong until the early 1990s. During the tomb transfer, the body was excavated in a mummified form and caused a cultural sensation. Today, the descents have given up leasing the building and use an entire 3-story building for the preservation of this portrait.
