Hoehwa Tree of Lake Park, the Guardian Tree of Ilsan New City
There is a nurse-tree that remained alone throughout the development of Ilsan new city, which began in 1989.
It is 300-year-old protected tree, protected by the city, that is called Juyeop-ri Hoehwa Tree.
The place where the tree is located used to be called Sangju and Haju village before the development of the new city and the Lee family of Jeonju and Seo family of Dalseong lived here in groups.
The tree to which people used pray for a good harvest (Suhomokje and Kiwon-gosa) is the only tree that remains in the Hoehwa Tree Square at the Ilsan Lake Park.
It is the god tree of the Lake Park and Guardian Tree of the Ilsan New City area. It is also famous for having produced three members of the Congress from Goyang. At the time of Han river embankment collapse, old Juyeopri people looked at the free to locate their houses.
