Gawaji Rice Museum has a floor area of 630㎡ and displays various materials and artifacts telling of the 'Goyang Gawaji rice seeds', which were the origin of rice farming in the Korean peninsula five thousand years ago. Gawaji rice seeds were discovered twenty years ago during the Ilsan New Town development process. The materials and artifacts on display show the process of change of the Korean peninsula’s agricultural culture from the Stone Age, and visitors can see the tradition of rice passed down alongside the evolution process of cultivated rice in the Korean peninsula.
